Matte Collection is an affordable luxury ecommerce swim line, with the goal of providing stylish swimwear for women of all body types.
While the company itself has an overall brand identity and style, each separate collection has its own feeling or "vibe". It was within my discretion to create content that was in line with Matte Collection's brand identity, but still brought an individual voice to each collection.
For example, Havana Heat featured lots of bright, bold colors and had a Miami, spring break vibe to it. The Resort Collection (below) gave off more of a luxurious, calm, vacation feeling. For each, I chose typefaces that I felt represented each collection for their web banners and website.
Tools Used: Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, Mailchimp
I also created content for the brand's Instagram of over 1 million followers. This included content like what is pictured on the left, e.g. announcements and giveaways.
I created Instagram story posts made to increase follower engagement while also acting as an advertisement for the products pictured. Below is an Instagram story series that was used to promote the brand's Sculpt Basix collection.
Additionally, I was responsible for creating + scheduling daily email marketing blasts for subscribed customers (below).
I created subject lines in the brand's voice ("Hey Babe, check out our Basix Collection while it's still here!"), and preview text ("Shop our soft, stretchy material that's perfect for fall"). I also created assets to include in the email, such as the advertisement for their mobile app that would link to the App Store, banners, buttons, and more. These emails varied by style and content every day and were often reformatted using HTML to target certain demographics, e.g. "customers who have purchased a bikini yet" or "subscribers who haven't made a purchase in the last 90 days".
I was also responsible for writing product descriptions for the brand's website. I had to word these in a short & intriguing way that could both inform customers of what they're getting, and pique their interest.
Below is a mockup of an improved and refreshed website design, created to make a more seamless and straightforward shopping experience for customers.
For example, one issue Matte Collection customers faced was bikini sets being sold together, so both the top and bottom would have to be the same size. For most women, this is not the case. In my solution, tops, bottoms, and cover-ups are all sold separately so shoppers have the choice of getting closer to a perfect fit.
Additionally, I illustrated icons to help shoppers better understand the fit of the products, since it can sometimes be hard to gauge from photos alone. For example, high support vs low support, cheeky vs full-coverage, high-waisted vs low-waisted, etc.
